Led a session at the renowned, and very supportive National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) on Palestine Emerging, the pretty robust economic blueprint of things that need to happen if gaza and the west bank are ever going to see genuine reconstruction and a real road to prosperity. It was a receptive audience but, as the perceptive questions made clear, and still daily catastrophic events make ever clearer, a whole lot more than talking is needed, and the UK, and the rest of the world has not risen to the challenge of the situation there. Big, bold, different thinking and action on every front is still urgently needed.
